Early Life
Jeffery Shaun King was raised in Kentucky and received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. King is an active member of the Black Lives Matter movement, and he has been called “the face” of the movement. He was named one of the 100 most influential people on Twitter by Time magazine and was awarded a posthumous Courage in Journalism Award at the 2017 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
