Secrets of Logo Designs – How to design memorable & creative brand identities

Logo designing is not an easy task, you have got to be on the top of your skills to ensure you are on the right track and would gain the right audience for the brand. One of the main things that you need to understand while creating a brand identity is to ensure you are developing it for the right audience. Brands often make the mistake of targeting the wrong audience and develop an irrelevant and unimportant brand identity. You must make sure you are creating the right brand identity for the audience. Most people are not aware of the peculiarities of the brand identity and the importance of logo designing in it.

We all can agree to the fact that in order to capture the personality of the brand and make it stand out all above your competitors, the brand needs a unique and attractive logo that does not only represent the brand but leaves a good impression on the audience as well. If you are looking for some logo design agencies to make a logo for you, it is important for you to write advertisements which explicitly say “make logo for me”. With the right logo design agency and the perfect brief, you can get the logo that you are looking for.

If you are someone who wants to take things in their hands and want to know the nitty gritty of the logo designing you are at the right spot.

1)   Get known to the Brand

One of the biggest mistakes that most brands make while getting the logo made is they do not give the right brief to the logo agency. An unfinished and incomplete brief is one of the main reasons why brands often fail in creating a right brand identity. The logo designers are not really known with the brand and with the wrong information they create the brand logo that does not resonate with the brand as such. Therefore, while you are at this job, make sure you are researching accurately and getting into the depth of the designing in order to get the logo rightly designed.

Get aware of the brand, the services they offer, the tone they want to establish and most importantly how they want to communicate with their audience. You cannot start the process without educating yourself about the brand. You need to research the brand as much as possible in order to get the full grip of it.

1)   Document all Your Ideas for Logo

When you have passed the stage of ideation it’s time you think of the designs you want to create for the brand. Now that you have reached the ideation stage, documenting your logo design ideas should be your first priority as it gives you the direction to go forward and make everything the way you want. Before you even think about designing it all in some software or a computer the first thing that you must do is take out a pen or paper and do it in a traditional way. Logo designing is about software or computers, it is all about everything that you have in your mind.

Sketch your ideas on the paper, bring out everything in there. It’s better to create a proto type or something on paper. It makes it easier for the designers to design it on the computer then. You cannot give the lame excuses like sketching is not possible, there is always a room for sketching and drawing simple lines is not difficult at all. Even if your sketching is messy, do not worry, it will help you no matter what.

2)   Do not be so Pressed on the Trends

People tend to follow trends religiously and whatever is in the market they just jump in the bandwagon to sound relevant. This is not the right approach to follow and go about it. Once the trend passes, you will not be relevant anymore. Logos stay for a long time; brands hardly ever change the logo and even when they do, they do not make much tweaks in them. Therefore, do not go for the trends once, you see them the masses following them do not think it would go right for you too. Your brand is different from the others, what goes for them does not necessarily go for you too.

However, what you can do is keep a track of the gradients, using them for years is not recommended though. Brands often make the mistake of following the simple trends for years even if they are not relevant to them and this is where they fail significantly. The good news in the current era is the gradients are now back in the limelight and they have been given a life lease now.

3)   Go Original

Nothing beats originality and nothing will ever come close to going original with the brand. Getting an original design is no walk in the park. We all can agree to that. Uniqueness is something that all brands out there are striving for but is everybody getting them too? Well that is where most brands fail. The fastest way to grab the audience’s attention is to go original.

Think of the way you want your customers and audience to see you. Gradually try to idealize them on the paper and then try making them on your logo software as well. Trust with a little hustle it is all possible and the best way to design a logo is to go original.

4)   Classic Colors is the Way

Going classic is one of the best ways that you can do to get your logo designed. When you are at the initial stage of the designing colors do not really matter. Therefore, when you begin with the process you go all black and white and be colorless there. Even if you proceed with these colorless logos, you would not be on the wrong path. However, if later you think adding colors would be the better option, then go with it. Some pint of reds and pinks and even a blue or yellow would not harm the whole look of the logo.
